Our FAQ's

What are your Covid measures?

We are taking all the necessary measures to make your visit as safe as possible, whilst following the latest government guidance. You can find out more in our video

How do you make a reservation?

We only accept reservations by telephone on 01377 217294. To avoid disappointment we would recommend that you make reservations for lunchtime. In the evening, reservations are a must.

Do you have outdoor seating?

From May 2021 we will have outdoor seating in the rear courtyard, front and side of the Inn, so you will be able to enjoy your lunch or drinks in the fresh air. The tables are not reservable and we will not be serving dinner out there in the evening.

Do you allow children?

Children are welcome at the Wellington Inn.

We are more than happy to do a small portion of anything that is practical to do.

We have a number of high chairs that can be reserved if you phone to let us know you’re coming. Baby changing facilities are located in the disabled toilet and we will happily warm any bottles or food that you bring with you.

We would ask however that babies are not taken into the restaurant at night and any young children are impeccably behaved.

Do you cater for dietary restrictions?

We try to cater for every need, little people, dietary needs, disabilities or simply an off menu request. If we can help, we will. It would be helpful if you can let us know your needs when booking.

Do you cater for disabilities?

We are a traditional village inn with some parts of the building dating back to 1820. With that in mind you will understand that old buildings are often on several levels.

Pre arrival telephone us to discuss your needs on 01377 217294.

The car park is to the rear of the building, we will happily reserve a space for you.

We will arrange, at your request, for a member of staff to be available to assist you upon arrival. However, we would advise guests to bring a 'helper' should you have specific needs.

Entrance from the rear of the building is flat with no steps to negotiate. Once in the building you have access to the large private dining room, bar meal area and disabled washroom facilities. In order to get in to the main bar area, restaurant and small private dining room, two steps have to be negotiated.

We regularly have clients come into the restaurant in wheel chairs; however we understand that some people are uncomfortable having to be lowered down steps. We therefore are more than happy to reserve a table for you at the entrance level to the building in the area that we serve evening bar meals. You must telephone beforehand to advise us of this.

Once at your table we will do what we can to make your visit as pleasurable as possible.

Service dogs are allowed in the Wellington Inn.

We can provide larger font menus with prior notice.

Do you allow dogs?

We do permit dogs; however, we have strict limitations on the amount and areas of the building in which we allow them at any one time. You must request a dog friendly table at time of reservation. Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant. Naturally service dogs are allowed.

Do you have a car park?

There is a car park to the rear of the building and on street parking outside the front of the pub in the village

Do you have a dress code?

We do not have a dress code at ‘The Welly’, as long as you are comfortable and relaxed; we're happy.
